We never had to read the whole charles dickens books before,
but the excerpts that we've had to read where ridiclously boring.
Um...I was reading "Speak" (Can't remember the author) for reading class. We're supposed to read it together, but I guess I'm a fast reader, because I finished the book in two days or so. They got mad 'cause I'd be about fifty pages ahead of them. xD
Speak is surprisingly funny. I didn't think I'd enjoy it, but so far its been my favorite book this year. The story is about a high-school girl who dosnt like to talk. The entire school hates her because she called the cops on the big end-of-summer party and so many people got introuble that they all hate her. Its telling about how she goes through the year, and its quite funny the way she describes things. The school mascot fight is funny, too. xD

Augusten Burroughs is an amazing author. so far, the only thing i have NOT read by him is Sellivision, his fiction book. I love all his memoris. i agree with whoever said he's funny without really trying to be. it's very true. he's a great author.
What i'm reading at the moment is Post Office by Charles Bukowski.
it's a pretty fast read. not too bad of a book either.
And i'm also reading The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult. another brillaint author. so far the book is really good.

Well, first and foremost because Holden is a fucking crybaby.
Mostly though I think it's because I read it in college instead of high school. It's much more of a book for high schoolers to relate to, I think. So many people talk it up and they're like oh my god you're just like Holden and when I read it I was like wow, I seriously hope I'm not like that. I mean, storywise it's ok. Nothing special really. I just can't stand Holden's incessant whining.

Because I JUST started it the other day, and honestly I don't find it too interesting, so I guess I just don't care enough to remember. It's also not a book I picked out or anything. One of my friends handed it to me &said "Read this!"
